When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
When I was a child, I began with telling stories. The love for storytelling evolved into writing during my high school years. At 21, I began writing for an engineering publication. After 20 years of that, I decided to make writing a full-time career.
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
All criticism is met with an open mind, so none is tough for me. When a reader explains that my book touched them emotionally, it is the best compliment ever.
Amongst all the competition in the romance genre, why do you think your books are so popular?
I believe people want to read something that provides entertainment. I try to infuse my books with humor, emotion, love, and a great plot. The read is a roller coaster ride, and provides a tremendous amount of entertainment, hence the popularity.
Give us an interesting fun fact about any of your books.
I generally dedicate my books to whoever inspires me to write the story.

My background? You really don't want to know.
What is the biggest lie you've ever told?
I don't tell lies.
Have you ever been in trouble with the police? If YES, for what?
Yes.
Simply get a legal book and read the laws from front to rear. I've committed most of the crimes listed. Most more than once.
I can't even begin to count the amount of times I've had handcuffs on.
BUT.
Now, I only write about criminals.
Characters often find themselves in situations they aren't sure they can get themselves out of. When was the last time you found yourself in a situation that was hard to get out of and what did you do?
I got mad in a bar at a group of men, and walked up to them alone and challenged the group to a fight. It wasn't that long ago, and the men were college football players. There was six of them. So, after a lengthy discussion, they decided to leave the bar.
More than likely, they categorized me as being nuts, but for a moment or three, I felt like there was no way out of a serious ass whipping. For me, however, it was a matter of principle.
What is your biggest fear?
Being on a plane that plummets to the ground, and not having everything in order prior to hitting the ground.
If you were a super hero, what would your name be? What costume would you wear?
Endurance. A suit of flames.
What secret talents do you have?
If I told you, they would be a secret, would they.
I have nineteen secret talents. And they'll stay secrets.
If you could have any accent from anywhere in the world, what would you choose?
Midwest USA.
Do you ever daydream about people you see at the park? Airport? Train station? Mall? And build romance scenes around them while you daydream?
No.
Why did Yankee Doodle name the feather in his hat Macaroni?
Because he could.
What is your favorite body part?
Eyes.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Disastrous.
What story does your family always tell about you?
Whichever one is current. I do something weekly that should make the evening news, so there's never a lack of stories to tell.
Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
Yes.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Deadpool.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
Kate Moss.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

What is the strangest dream you've ever had?
I don't dream.

Intelligence trumps looks. Always.
What is the best book you have read so far?
Moby Dick.
What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and Turn? Try to get up and do something productive?
I always sleep and sleep soundly.
When making an entrance into a party, do you make your presence known? Do you slip in and look for someone you know? Do you sneak in quietly and find a safe spot to roost?
I slip in and watch everyone.
What’s one thing you’d rather pay someone to do than do yourself? Why?
Yardwork.
When do you find yourself singing?
At 6:45 am.
What's the absolute best vacation you can imagine?
One that includes the beach.

A mirror. So they could see themselves for who they are.

Johnny Depp. The girl with the baseball bat.
