Alpha Bad Boys Series
Synopsis
***All four of the Alpha Bad Boy novellas in one box set plus free full-length bonus novel The Matriarch included.***
Bad Boy Revelation
Daddy told me not to even look at the man in the corner. He's troubled he said. I wanted to do more than look at him.
I grew up in the church. I was raised better. And I was broken. Oh, was I ever broken. I had a sexual appetite that couldn't be filled. A thirst in me that only sin could quench. I needed him, the man in the corner, to claim me, dominate me, own me.
I'd do whatever it took. Goad him if necessary. I needed that man like I needed air or water. I needed the bad boy.
Bad Boy Prospect
Fighting, f***ing, and winning. It's what I do and nobody will stand in my way. It's how I live my life on the field and in the bedroom. I make hitters fear me. If they're scared, it gives me an advantage, and I capitalize on it. People say I have an attitude problem, that I'm a bad boy. It's exactly what I want them to think.
Until I meet Elizabeth, the psychiatrist Coach makes me see. She specializes in pro athletes. There's something about her. Maybe she'll be the one who finally cuts through my layers and sees the real me. Who knows?
Bad Boy Brawler
Devyn O'Dare is the Ultra MMA world heavyweight champion. He destroys opponents. He doesn't like to be in the public eye. One day he makes a bad decision that will alter his life forever.
In the hospital he meets Carly, single mom, nurse, struggling day to day. Devyn feels he can right some wrongs from his troubled past. He can change Carly's life and end her struggles, prevent her son from the same type of childhood he experienced. But Carly must decide if she wants to trust Devyn and put her pride aside, or soldier through life alone with her son.
Bad Boy Con Man
Grayson is a con man. If he sees an opportunity he capitalizes. When the score that can set him up for life comes along it's too much for him to resist.
Then he meets Amelia. Intelligent, funny, gorgeous, and a lover of comic books. She's everything he's ever wanted. But, at the end of the day he has to make a choice — hurt the woman he's crazy about, or take the money and leave his old life behind.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I don't know that there was a defining moment. It just sort of happened. I started writing some tax blog entries to make tax more exciting (i know right?) and people liked them, and then I started a blog with my sister where I wrote funny short stories about some characters. It just sort of morphed from there and now here we are. :)
What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
Toughest criticism, I don't know that I have a particular event. It was difficult because there is so much to writing that you don't think about or pick up on during reading. But there are tricks and things you do to keep a reader locked in the story. Having Celia Aaron take a figurative red pen to one of my manuscripts was the toughest criticism probably, and that which I'm most thankful for because it taught me so much.
The best compliment was when Rachel Saucy Owl, who is now my PA, said that The Matriarch was probably the best book she's ever read. I nearly died when I read that, and was incredibly flattered.
Amongst all the competition in the romance genre, why do you think your books are so popular?
Oh, I don't know. I think it's maybe a combination of things, though I don't know that I'm all that popular. I am pretty boisterous on social media and let people into my little world. I know what my brand is and I stay true to it. But I like to think the biggest contributor is that I write good books. I mean, I think that's what most popular authors would like to think and hope. I know I hope that's what it is. But it's tough to get your face and voice above the rest, because the market is so saturated. So I think my social media following helps with that tremendously.
Give us an interesting fun fact about any of your books.
Well, let's see, I played college baseball so that definitely bleeds over into my writing I think. It gives an accurate portrayal of the game and what it actually feels like in a locker room full of guys.
Tell us a little about your background!
I played sports through high school to the collegiate level. I have a bachelor's degree in accounting and worked as a tax accountant for ten years. Married for almost nine years and I have a three year old son.
What is the biggest lie you've ever told?
Probably when I pretended to be a female for the first 9 months of my writing career, in the romance genre anyway.
Have you ever been in trouble with the police? If YES, for what?
Yes. Hah! I really wish people didn't know this but I have been to jail, more than once all stemming from the same thing. I ran with the wrong crowd and got mixed up in the wrong things when I was younger. I probably shouldn't go into much more detail than that. It was a darker time in my life before I met my wife.
What is your biggest fear?
Failure most definitely. I have an overwhelming fear every time I hit publish that there is a glaring mistake or I've pushed the envelope too far and it's going to end my career. I fear going back to a cubicle and crunching numbers all day long, and won't be able to see my son as much as I get to. I'm also deathly afraid of heights, but strangely love to fly and ride roller coasters.
If you were a super hero, what would your name be? What costume would you wear?
I'd seriously be like Hancock I think, and anti-hero. But we could call it hand cocks, because my fingers would be dicks and I could dickslap people with an actual slap, and give criminals the mushroom stamp of approval after their evil deeds had been thwarted. I'd drink Fat Tire and write Olivia Munn loveletters that she'd never read, and probably take out a restraining order against me. I don't know about the costume, what goes good with a hand with penis fingers?
What secret talents do you have?
Let's see, I can balance a lot of things on my head at once. My son likes to keep handing me things to stack until it all falls on me. Then he points and laughs before making a huge mess of toys while I pick up everything that just fell all over me. I'm an avid shoe shopper. I like to by the wifey shoes, so I know all the good brands. <wink>
If you could have any accent from anywhere in the world, what would you choose?
Most definitely Australian or British. If I was from there I'd just move to the U.S. because their voices just make knees wobble over here.
Do you ever daydream about people you see at the park? Airport? Train station? Mall? And build romance scenes around them while you daydream?
Umm, lol, not really. Most of my characters are formed from interesting people I've met or talked to. And then I just overdo their personality because characters have to be interesting and you have a finite amount of time to make an impact on a reader. So they have to be over the top and then slowly develop over the course of the story.
What is your favorite body part?
I don't know, my wife says I have good calves. I guess that can be a thing after the How I Met Your Mother episode where Lily is all swooning over Marshall's calves. Maybe it's for real.
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Welcome to Crazytown
Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
Absolutely, when my son got sick it was the worst time of my life. For my wife too. Out of that I ended up out of work and all kinds of time to write, and I was able to make a career out of it. I'm always looking for a way to turn a negative situation into a positive, but that was the biggest for me and it was really hard to get through.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
I would love to be Joey from Friends. The dude eats and never gains weight, like all he wants. He's funny and gets to be whatever he wants on his soap operas.
Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
I've probably been told Joaquin Phoenix (sp?) the most.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Probably vacuuming, it's just so effing redundant.
What is the strangest dream you've ever had?
I never really remember my dreams much, to be honest. It sucks, because I bet they're pretty cool. So I'm jealous of people that can remember theirs.
If you had to choose, which one would it be: intelligent but not that good looking, or good looking but not that intelligent?
Intelligent but not that good looking.
What is the best book you have read so far?
1984 by George Orwell
What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and Turn? Try to get up and do something productive?
I usually get up and do something not productive, lol. Watch tv or a movie. But I'm a night owl and most of the time I'm writing at night when nobody is around and I'm alone with my characters in their world.
When making an entrance into a party, do you make your presence known? Do you slip in and look for someone you know? Do you sneak in quietly and find a safe spot to roost?
Probably slip in and look for someone I know.
What’s one thing you’d rather pay someone to do than do yourself? Why?
CLEAN MY HOUSE! And do my taxes, lol. Did that enough in the past. They can pay them too if they want. Refunds are all mine though.
When do you find yourself singing?
Never. I can't sing for shit. I try to bob my head with the music sometimes and I'm sure I look ridic.
You have to drink four pints of a liquid per day (not water). What is it?
Either Diet Mountain Dew or Fat Tire
Who's your fantasy celebrity boyfriend/girlfriend?
Olivia Munn, no questions asked
If your home were on fire and you did not have to worry about saving any of the five P's (people, pets, photos, papers, prescriptions), what one item would you choose to save?
