#Synopsis:
A secret lies in wait for over a decade. A tortured past comes to the surface while murder rocks the sleepy little town of Landers, Wyoming.
James Ashton is a police detective from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. A traditional southern man complete with lack of social graces, he decides it’s time for a fresh start after his wife leaves him for his best friend. A game of darts chooses his fate while he is deciding on where to go. Before the ink dries on the divorce papers, he packs up and transfers into the police department in Landers, Wyoming.
After her sister commits suicide, Melody Quinn decides that she needs the quiet life after having served in the Marines where she did two tours in Afghanistan, trained with the FBI at Quantico, Virginia, and worked with the Los Angeles Police Homicide Department. She knew she needed to get away for a while. Her captain agreed with her. After contacting his old Army buddy in Landers, Wyoming, he arranged the transfer for Melody effective immediately. Unbeknownst to her, life would not be as quiet as she hoped.
Not long after Ashton and Quinn arrive, murder rocks the sleepy little mountain town as bodies start appearing. As it turns out, the killer is right under their noses…or is he?
About the Author
SC Hutchinson has loved to read since before she could remember. Hamlet, the Phantom of the Opera, and Stephen King’s It are just a few of the books that ensnared her imagination as a child.
Having a preference for paranormal and dark reads, she still finds time to read sweet books by authors such as Torrie Robles Love After Pain, though some of her favorite indie authors include: Layla Stevens, Ella Dominguez, C.C Wood, Yara Greathouse, Gwendolyn Grace, Ashlei Hawley, Haven Anne Lennox, C.M Holloway, M.M Wolff, and many more.
SC’s first attempt at writing produced The Highland Stones, Into the Darkness from the Light, Stirrings of Darkness, and a few others. She has since learned from her mistakes and used both positive and negative experiences to produce Like My Status, a book of which she is very proud.
Reading—and now writing—is her favorite escape, and it provides him an outlet for when life gets out of hand.
