BLOG TOUR & REVIEW ~ Broken Chords by Carries Elks

Title: Broken Chords
Series: Love in London #2
Author: Carrie Elks
Genre: Adult Romance
Release Date: February 26, 2015
Cover Designed by: Okay Creations

Lara knows she should feel lucky. Married to the man of her dreams, with a gorgeous new baby, she should be enjoying her happy-ever-after. But she never expected motherhood to be so difficult, or for her life to change so dramatically.

Alex has it all: hot, tattooed looks, a beautiful wife, and a band that's finally getting noticed. A lucrative offer of a US tour should be the icing on the cake. But as he leaves the country, distance isn't the only thing that starts to pull their relationship apart.

With half a world dividing them, Alex and Lara have to battle for a marriage they once took for granted.

Broken Chords is the second story in the Love in London series but can be read completely as a stand-alone.
Though it's a series, it's not a serial and there are no cliffhangers, each book features a different couple!

“You want one?” he asked, cupping his hand to shade his match from the slight breeze.
“I don’t smoke. It’s a disgusting habit.” I smiled, letting him know I was flirting more than anything. Trying to wind him up.
He stared at me, throwing the burnt-out match into the ashtray. Already, I’d noticed Alex had this intense way of making me feel as if nothing else mattered. That I was the only interesting thing in the room—or in this case, the street.
“You’re one of those, then,” he said.
“One of what?”
“A crusader.” He inhaled deeply, then let the smoke drift out of his lips. Even I had to admit he looked sexy.
His words made me grin. I was anything but; smoking rarely bothered me at all. “I don’t kiss boys who smoke,” I said.
The corner of his lip twitched up. He leaned forward, still staring intently. “That’s good. I don’t want you kissing them.”
“You’re a boy who smokes,” I pointed out.
This time a full-on smirk broke out on his face. “I’m the exception that proves the rule, sweetheart.”
The way he said it made my heart hammer against my chest. There was something about Alex Cartwright that made me feel breathless. I wasn’t used to boys like him, ones who oozed sexuality out of every pore. Until then my boyfriends had been more friend than boy. Low key, almost feminine
Alex didn’t have a feminine bone in his body.
“What makes you think I want to kiss you, anyway?”
“You’re the one who brought up kissing, not me.” Another cocky response. “Not to mention the fact you keep looking at my mouth and licking your lips. I can tell you want to eat me for breakfast.”
The image his words conjured up made me choke on my coffee. I spluttered the hot liquid out. Alex started to laugh.
“Kissing. I was still talking about kissing.”

4 ★★★★ WICKED GREAT STARS

Broken Chords (Love in London #2) by Carrie Elks

Great Book!

This was my first book from this author and I found myself wrapped into the story very quickly.

Lara and Alex, married with new baby, Max are trying to make their way through being new parents. Their relationship begins to change as the sleepless night and trying to adapt to parenthood begins to take its toll. Lara is diagnosed with Post Natal Depression when Alex the lead singer of a band goes on tour with his band.

The story was realistic with characters I quickly fell in love with. The relationship between Lara and Alex was full of love, passion and emotional. I look forward to reading more from this author.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ & REVIEW ~ Filthy Desire by Sebastian Ex

Title: Filthy Desire
Author: Sebastian Ex
 Release Date: March 4, 2015

Synopsis

My name is Matthew Weston. Don't call me anything else, because I won't respond. And if you think you can get away with whimpering ‘Matt’ while I have you tied to the bed, about to devour you, it'll end up being your loss.

Men like me don't talk about feelings. We just don't.

What men like me do is pound. I pound the asphalt with my running shoes on morning runs. I pound a punching bag in the gym until my knuckles bleed. And when I need a release, I find a beautiful woman sprawled out on her bed, eagerly waiting for my cock, and pound her into oblivion. Yeah, that's me. I don't have feelings, and I don't do love.

At least I didn't, until the night Ella walked into my office looking like a disgusting junky to interview for a position for The Onyx Club.

She was like no one I'd ever met before. She was timid, reserved, and quite plain with her mousy brown hair and dirty clothes. Ella also had a dark and haunted gleam in her eye. A secret, a past she was desperate to conceal.

And when she called me ‘Matt’ it didn't seem to bother me.

She came into my life and turned it upside down. The only question is, can I screw her out of my system, or will my filthy desire for her keep her by my side?

5 ★★★★★ Wicked Awesome Stars
Filthy Desire by Sebastian EX

This is Sebastian EX's debut novel and Holy Sh*t...this book was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. The sex was hot, the plot was great and the storytelling marvelous! I was pulled into the story and felt like I was right there...that to me is a sign of an amazing author.

The main characters are Matthew and Ella and let me just say this....I want Matthew! In fact, he is my new book boyfriend. Lol. Matthew is a bad ass dominant with a soft side, but he's not soft for everyone. He can be rude and nasty but you'll find yourself loving him anyway. Ella has a past, a painful, tragic past that makes you feel for her. Her life wasn't easy. The day she meets Matthew is when both of their lives begin to change. Follow them on their journey and discover what happens when a Dominant man meets a troubled girl. You won't be disappointed.
P.s. I truly hope Sebastian EX has another book in store for us!

EXCERPTS

FROM CODA (RATED NC-17)

“You know what, Monica, you don’t even know yourself. Look at you. I haven’t seen you this relaxed in months. The only time you let your worry go is when you give me control. And your worry is what keeps you from being honest.”

I swallowed. Blinked. A torrent of wetness welled behind my eyes, “I don’t want to break the scene.”

“Stay still. Stay naked. Speak your mind.”

“I almost died with you a hundred times. That recovery room, they had you in this induced coma and you looked dead. There were bags of blood. Bags, hanging over you and you were all opened up. And, I’m sorry, I haven’t said this because you’re the one who went through it.” I swallowed a gallon of tears. “I don’t want to see you like that again. But I think about it all the time. I dream about it. I see it when I close my eyes. I want you to live, so I do what I think is going to make you happy and I always get it wrong. Stay or go. I give you attention or none. It’s always wrong.”

“What about your happiness?”

“It doesn’t matter. Not as much as yours. It’s not life or death.”

“It is, Monica. It is.”

I shook my head. “You can’t convince me of that. We can do this hurtful honesty thing all day. You’re the priority and I’m okay with that. Deal with it.”

He nodded, looking down for a blink, then up at me. He reached for my wrists.

“These go behind your back.”

I did as instructed.

“Now, get on your knees.”

I bent them. With my hands behind my back, it was hard to balance.

“Do you need some help?” he asked.

“Yes.”

I thought he’d take me gently by the elbow, but dragged me down. He was right. I was relaxed, totally submitting and trusting him, loving every bit of discomfort he dished out.

“Spread your knees apart.”

I did, too slowly for him. He kicked them wide.

“Do you remember your safeword?” He asked, unbuckling his belt.

“Yes.” A tingling rush went down my spine with the promise of his dominance and the way it made me forget how fragile he really was.

His cock was out in the next second. “Open. Your. Mouth.”

FROM THE SUBMISSION BUNDLE
“Well, well, look at that,” Ute said, staring across the street.

I followed her gaze and saw what she saw. Jonathan had on simple trousers and a sweater with a leather jacket. In contrast to the rest of the men at the party, who spent hours looking as though they didn’t care what they wore, he looked neat and put together, as if he cared. He was tall and lean and straight, with his hair brushed back off his forehead. He owned the world and everything in it. The difficulty of staying away from him was past his looks, past any single physical attribute. He fell into a new, undefined category of “right.”

I set my back straighter and tilted my chin up. I thought Debbie would send Robert, but instead I’d have to pretend I was fine and my face wasn’t pounding.

“He’s coming over here,” said Ute, brushing her hair flat.

“He’s my ride,” I said.

Her eyebrows arched.

I paused. Jonathan liked blondes, if his ex-wife was any indication. Ute was beautiful. She’d do well with him.

I thought about adding a short explanation. Maybe ‘I’m in love with him, but I left him’ or ‘he was my lover, boyfriend, master, king...’ None of it worked, and by the time I came up with ‘we were together for a while,’ he was upon us.

“Hey,” he said, and that voice went right into my gut and ripped stuff out.

Author Information

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did embed TV story structure in her head well enough for her to take a big risk on a TV series structured erotic series called Songs of Submission. It’s about a kinky billionaire hung up on his ex-wife, an ingenue singer with a wisecracking mouth; art, music and sin in the city of Los Angeles.

Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to give the toilets a once-over every couple of weeks or chop a cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

RELEASE BLITZ ~ Conviction by Lesley Jones

She was mine. Our love unquestioned. Our futures planned. But she didn't show. All that we had, all that we meant, and after all that was said, she just didn't show. That one act by her changed everything, but it especially changed me and from that moment on, there was no going back. No words of love, no whispered promises, just sex and drugs and rock and roll. No one gets a piece of Reed, but what they will get is the night of their life, the chance to let go, break their own rules and enjoy the best, the dirtiest, filthiest sex ever... Along with the other four people in my bed.

I thought he loved me, I believed everything he said, every promise that he made but then, when I needed him more than I'd needed anyone in my life, when I was at my most vulnerable, he let me down. He chose to take a different path and leave me to pick up the pieces of my now broken life. I was changed forever and chose the easy option, letting others take charge of my destiny, until once again, I'm let down in the cruelest of ways.

Dirty filthy sex.

Love.

Heartbreak.

Betrayal.

High emotion.

And a bit more sex.

Conviction by International bestselling author, Lesley Jones has it all. Out March 2015.

Lesley Jones Biography
I was born and raised in a small working class town in Essex, just outside of East London. I am married with three sons and in 2006 we all moved to the other side of the world, settling on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, about 50K outside of Melbourne, Australia. It's a whole new way of life for us down here, we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

I am currently a stay at home mum but in the past I have worked at Marks & Spencer, as a classroom assistant/teachers aid and have run my business.
As well as writing, I love to read and have been known to get through four or five books a week. My other interests are watching my boys play football...The round ball version. I am happy to admit to being an addict of social media and I owe a lot to my Facebook and Twitter family in promoting my work. I am also rather partial to a glass... or bottle of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favorite. Being a born and raised Essex girl, I will happily admit to be being a big fan of spray tans, Shellac and am regularly, waxed, tinted and sculpted, although I am more likely to be found in thongs/flipflops than a pair of white stilettos these days.

 Synopsis

I only knew two things when I married Grey Andrews: one, I was in love and two, I wanted to rebel against my parents.  For the first time in my life, REALLY rebel.  I, however, wasn't prepared for the onslaught of negativity and abuse I encountered. Grey would make sure I knew where I stood, with him, and with everyone else.  He of course, was allowed to go and do whatever, wherever he pleased.  Even during the rare times I would stand up to him, he would be sure that I knew I was nothing."You?  What man in his right mind would want you?  You are the biggest bitch I've ever known.  Not to mention, you are damaged."  Grey said as he wheeled around with that all too familiar sneer.  The last thing I heard was, "I only married you out of pity." Did he really mean that?  I loved him so much and thought if I loved him enough, he could change.  I felt like I had been punched in the gut!  Would he realize how lucky he was to have a beautiful wife and son.  Only time would tell.Grey made sure I was knocked down several pegs at all times, but.  even worse than that was the way he treated Tyler.   My heart bled every time that sweet little boy was pushed off to the side and denied the attention he so deeply needed and deserved.Do you ever "Get over" abuse, betrayal and adultery? My answer, no.  You "get through it", but you don’t ever "get over" it.  You take it one baby step at a time and  it is the support of great family, good friends and a loving Heavenly Father that makes continuing on even remotely possible.
